LIAM'S STORY

Liam Engle's tumor was found on December 12, 2015 and was the size of a grapefruit. He was only three years old at the time.

Thanks to Dr. Windemuller's astute skills, Liam's tumor was detected early enough for it to be considered  Stage 1 Neuroblastoma . He had no other symptoms other than short stature to indicate any form of cancer. Liam did not have to have any chemotherapy or radiation in addition to his surgery to remove the tumor. He has had scheduled lab work and imaging for follow up since diagnosis.

Liam recently passed the five year mark since his diagnosis and is considered to be cured from cancer. He is an active elementary school student who plays sports and made the All-Star baseball team. He inherited his parents' love of traveling and enjoys hiking, camping, being outdoors, and spending time with his friends.

Family Support

"Even though Liam had such a good outcome compared to many others, cancer still rocked our world and brought our family to our knees. During that dark time, Emily's Power for a Cure was, and continues to be, a large support to our family, "  said Liam's mother, Brandi, who is currently serving on the EPFAC Board of Directors and is an active volunteer in our organization.
