Summer's Story

When 2-year old Summer Vinson couldn't walk anymore, her mom knew something was wrong. If she stood up, she immediately fell over and was always shaking really badly. After visiting medical professionals to find out what was going on, she was diagnosed in 2022 with Neuroblastoma and an auto immune disorder called Opsoclonus-Myoclonus-Ataxia Syndrome. She has had 2 surgeries so far: one to remove her adrenal gland and a hernia repair. Her treatment has included infusions and medications, and she will have a port placement procedure done soon, too.

Despite all the things that Summer has been through at such a young age, she is a very strong and happy child. She enjoys watching Cocomelon, playing on the swingset and taking a bath. "Sometimes she is even stronger than me, even though she is only 2 years old," says her mom, Brittany.

"Emily’s power for a cure was very quick in helping our family through the most trying time of our life and still continues to help by sending gift cards monthly which helps a lot with food and some other things we need. We are very thankful for them." ~Brittany, Summer's Mom
