Liam Engle's tumor was found on December 12, 2015 and was the size of a grapefruit. He was only three years old at the time.
Thanks to Dr. Windemuller's astute skills, Liam's tumor was detected early enough for it to be considered Stage 1 Neuroblastoma. He had no other symptoms other than short stature to indicate any form of cancer. Liam did not have to have any chemotherapy or radiation in addition to his surgery. He has had scheduled lab work and imaging for follow up since diagnosis.
"We are close to three year's since Liam's cancer diagnosis and we will be thrilled to hit the five year mark! Even though Liam had such a good outcome compared to many others, cancer still rocked our world and brought our family to our knees. During that dark time, Emily's Power for a Cure was, and continues to be, a large support to our family" said Liam's mother.
